Communication for Connection

Based on the work in Nonviolent Communication by Dr. Marshall Rosenberg, monthly seminars on Communication for Connection this year (October 2007 - June 2008) will include three different presentations of the introductory material, and seminars on specific topics or approaches: Anger, Empathy, Family Relationships (especially in the context of the holidays), Self-Empathy, Parenting, and Triangles (the classic “let’s you and him fight” and other relationships involving three people).

To begin:

  • October 13: Basics of Communication for Connection.
  • November 3: Transforming Anger.
  • December 15: Communicating with Family at the Holidays.
  • January 19: Connecting with Empathy.

All Saturdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Green Hedges School.  Sessions are led by Jone Johnson Lewis.

Pre-class reading or purchase of a book is option.  Suggested: Speak Peace or Nonviolent Communication by Marshall Rosenberg, or Respectful Parents, Respectful Children by Sura Hart.   These can be ordered from Amazon.com or purchased from the NoVES Sunday book table or other sources.
