The annual Fourth of July picnic will be held at the home of Laura Abbot and Dave Roberts, 501 Mashie Dr. SE Vienna. Members, family, friends, and newcomers are especially welcom. Wine, beer, and soft drinks will be provided as well as plates, cups, flatware, and napkins.. Ice and coolers and a hot grill of vast dimensions are also provided. Bring your own items for grilling, something to share potluck style (salads, side dishes, and desserts). Extra chairs are most welcome. For the kids there will be a zip-wire, two person swing, tetherball, tree house, bocce balls, AND the Vienna fireworks beginning around dark (9:00 pm) Thursday, July 8, 2010

National Arboretum 3501 New York Ave, NE, Washington DC. Take a 40 - 45 minute open air tram tour of the 446 acre gardens and collections. Before or after the tram tour, drive, bike, or walk the nine miles of roadways to visit plant collections, National Bonsai and Penjing Museum, herb garden, aquatic plants, and exotic koi fish and much more. Buffet includes breads, salads, pates, vegetables, entrees, and desserts. Serving begins promptly at 11:00 AM. Arrive early to see students preparing our meal. Lunch is $15.75 (includes tax) no tips.
