The Northern Virginia Ethical Society supports growth and development through various stages of life. The Society recognizes each person’s unique worth, potential for ethical behavior, need for a caring community, and desire to contribute to the creation of a more humane world. Therefore, NoVES has developed the Ethics for Children Program.

Our goals are to encourage our children to:

• Do their own best thinking about ethical issues;
• Experience a sense of self-worth and empowerment;
• Feel the capacity and commitment to help improve the world, both in their personal relationships and in larger social concerns;
• Understand the ethical, religious, and cultural heritage which forms the foundation for the Ethical Culture Movement;
• Understand and respect the religious and cultural background of others; and
• Explore their beliefs in the supportive atmosphere of a peer group engaged in a common search.
